Ioanna focuses on the fields of maritime and international trade and commerce.
Ioanna specialises in shipping litigation handling issues arising under charterparty and bill of lading problems, cargo claims to casualties. Ioanna also advises on marine insurance disputes, shipbuilding, sale and purchase disputes and is actively involved in arbitration. She is also a member of our Emergency Response team.

Ioanna joined Thomas Cooper in 2002 when she was admitted as an English solicitor. Ioanna became a partner in 2009. Prior to joining Thomas Cooper, she worked in-house for shipping companies as well as the Maritime and Transports’ Division of the European Parliament in Brussels and Luxembourg. Ioanna is also a qualified Greek lawyer (1991).
Ioanna read law at the University of Athens and obtained a Master’s degree in Shipping Law (Admiralty, Marine insurance, Carriage of goods by sea) from the Southampton University. Ioanna is a member of the Athens Bar Association and speaks fluent French and Greek.
Ioanna is a member of The Law Society of England and Wales, the Athens Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Full Member).
