William’s main area of practice involves him advising both owners and charterers (and their insurers) on the full range of FD&D disputes. William has extensive experience of advising on and, where appropriate, arbitrating/litigating disputes under charterparties, bills of lading, contracts of affreightment, and ship management contracts.
Additionally, William is also able to advise on contracts for the sale of goods and insurance contracts. Over the past few years, he has developed a particular interest in European Union financial sanctions regimes.
William joined Thomas Cooper as a trainee solicitor in 2010. During his traineeship, he spent a period of time working in the firm’s Athens office. He qualified as a solicitor in September 2012, and has worked in Thomas Cooper’s shipping group ever since.
